Visitors to the Portal explored the concept of home through writing prompts and community discussion. Home is so much more than a physical location.
We used the “I am from” poetry prompt as the anchor of the session.
Visitors experienced poetry and writing like never before as participants from Colorado Springs and Santos, Brazil interact in real time through a live virtual experience in the large screen “Portal” named “Sojourner
Pikes Peak Poet Laureate, Ashley Cornelius led a series of workshops focusing on various aspects of global community and communication. Participants learned about themselves and celebrated community while connecting with poets from around the globe. At the conclusion of the workshop series, Ashley created a collaborative poem drawn from the collective experiences of those who participated.
